BACKGROUND

The result of £1bn investment, Jaguar Land Rover’s state-of-the-art Engine Manufacturing Centre is home to the Ingenium family of advanced, ultra-efficient petrol and diesel engines. MIDDAS were selected by JLR and their construction team, led by Associated Architects and Vinci Construction UK, to provide our M100 bi-panel product for the latest Module 4 phase of works.

BRIEF

A requirement for a fully-flush, bi-panel wall system to divide manufacturing and administration areas, with wall heights of 10m and fire performance requirements of 60-minutes integrity & insulation. Separate Quality & Amenity enclosures were also specified within the facility, incorporating flush glazing and details to provide a clean, state-of-the-art facility and environment for all processes.

SOLUTION

MIDDAS provided our M100 bi-panel, wall system in a variety of specifications and configurations, meeting all requirements for the project. Being fully tested and certified for fire rating to over 60-minutes, with flush glazing and to the required heights without the need for secondary supports for the walls. Bespoke details were engineered to find solutions to several architectural and construction conundrums throughout the project.
