PROJECT UPDATE – ROYAL FREE HOSPITAL: OFF SITE CSSD

Its go good when you see a project from initial sketches and basic outlines to the facility nearing completion. Scale is lost on a drawing and it’s only when you walk through a project you appreciate the full scope and how those details really work.

The MIDDAS framework negated the need for secondary steel work, with all services being distributed from the MIDDAS free standing structure. The MIDDAS frame is also designed so that distributed services can be routed through the wall system. Finished wall panels are simply hung from the framework with pre-formed cut outs for services.

The complete project has been modelled in BIM and all components are factory formed ready for site assembly, offering real programme benefits and significantly reduced site construction activity.
