The original design asked for standard non-fire rated vison panels with automatic fire rated shutters to close off the openings in the event of a fire. This solution required complicated and costly controls, furthermore, the surface mounted shutters created ledges and inaccessible areas, not suitable for hygienic environments.
TSL required a cost-effective alternative to the proposed fire rated window solution whilst maintaining the hygienic requirements for a food manufacturing facility and the fire rating.
MIDDAS design and manufacture a wide range of flush, triple glazed vison panels independently
tested to BS476 : Part 22 : 1987 for 30 and 60-minute integrity and insulation. The outer glazing
finishes flush with the walls, ensuring hygienic wipe clean surfaces, with the inner fire rated glass
providing the fire barrier.
MIDDAS engineered a solution to integrate their proven and tested vision panels into the fire rated walls supplied and installed by others negating the need for the proposed fire shutters.
